Boundaries: Zimbabwe lies between two great rivers:
To the north and northwest the Zambezi river forms the border with Zambia.
The southern boundary is the Limpopo river, forming the border with South Africa.
To the west lie the arid plains of Botswana, and on the east, a barrier of mountains separates Zimbabwe from Mozambique.
The mountainous Eastern Highlands reach up to 1200m above sea level.
