The hotel is still famous for its Christmas morning cocktail party when it has hosted historical figures such as Theodore Roosevelt, Lord Delamere and Karen Blixen. The Norfolk hotel has been beautifully refurbished and retains the elegant style of Kenya's colonial history. The new renovated reception area gives the Norfolk Hotel a light, bright atmosphere and a warm welcome for the guests. The hotel's beautiful interior décor features animal prints, deep sofas, cane chairs and ceiling fans have been reinstalled to evoke the feel of old the colonial era. The Norfolk's famous Ibis Restaurant offers sumptuous cosmopolitan cuisine from classic to the best of Kenya's traditional dishes. Accommodation styles vary from lavish VIP suites to smaller, intimate rooms which look out onto the hotel's lush gardens planted with local indigenous trees and shrubs. Tortilis Camp, Amboseli

Tortilis Camp, Amboseli

Named after the umbrella-shaped Acacia tortilis thorn trees, the Camp is landscaped into a romantic hillside setting and is situated right on the edge of the famous Amboseli national park. The main lodge is spaciously built with sheltered walkways and views of the soaring snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, popular with climbers. The mountain views from the bar and dining room are magnificent and the catering includes Italian cuisine.

The seventeen thatch-sheltered tents in dark green, blend with the bush environment and are set among trees and shrubs to provide privacy. Crocodiles lie quietly in the muddy water and it is here that you will identify abundant birdlife, including palm-eagles, storks, hornbills, bee-eaters and plenty of weaver birds.
